Who says you can't have both city and woodsy for your wedding day? Alex & Kelsi nailed this combination in the best way. The eventful day began downtown, where they said their vows and saw each other for the first time at the Basilica of St. John in Des Moines. Portraits were casual yet elegant outside of the World Food Prize gardens following the ceremony. Then, before the celebrating commenced at their Jester Park Lodge reception, we snuck into the woods for some dreamy portraits that capture their "just married" sweetness perfectly!
Tyler & Margo were married on the Capitol Terrace that outlooks downtown Des Moines. Talk about a beautiful backdrop! The two actually moved up their ceremony start time a bit to beat the rain — and beat the rain, we did! We had plenty of time outside for their gorgeous Fall portraits and the sun even shown through when Margo walked down the aisle to her groom. The storm commenced as the reception began at the Des Moines Embassy Club West, where all were ready to dance and celebrate the night. Cheers to that timing!
Elliot & Kellee were married on a rainy October Saturday! You would NEVER know it, because they were so full of joy from start to finish. Their day was made up of one of the sweetest first looks we've witnessed, a beautiful ceremony in the church we call home and a reception packed full of dancing and people they love. We were honored to be a part of this huge day for these wonderful friends! Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Frey!
Luke & Laura's backyard ceremony was intimate, casual and classy. And, although the day itself was laid back, they went the traditional route and waited to see each other for the first time during their ceremony (you'll want to look for the photo of Luke's reaction!) So much to love from this wedding day — the bride's style and taste reflected in everything with the gorgeous backdrop of early fall! Big congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs!
This 2018 couple got engaged this past summer but waited for a Fall engagement session — definitely okay with us! Fall is short but so beautiful. They were cozy in their interactions and a breeze to photograph. Enjoy Jacob & Jenny's sweet engagement session! Can't wait for next Summer!
